In 1999, Steve Geigle, MA, CSHM, CET, developed the online occupational safety and health training website OSHAcademy (www.oshatrain.org). Steve developed this website to meet the growing need for online occupational safety and health education and training. During this time, Steve worked for Oregon OSHA as a trainer and helped to develop its online safety training courses. Over the years, Steve continued to develop courses for OSHAcademy designed to help supervisors, managers, and business owners establish a safe work environment.
While Steve was developing OSHAcademy, he was also putting together the training resource website Certisafety (www.certisafety.com), previously known as CSHM Exam Preparation. This site was developed to help individuals working toward obtaining an OSH credential, such as the Certified Safety Health Manager (CSHM), Certified Industrial Hygeniest (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), and many others. Over time, Steve has developed more than 2000 questions designed to help individuals prepare for the challenging certification exams administered by organizations such as the Institute for Safety and Health Management (ISHM) and Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP).
In 2006, after years of steady growth, Steve formed the company Geigle Communications, LLC., underwhich OSHAcademy and CSHM Exam Preparation were operated. Steve continued to develop additional courses and establish training programs to recognize training achievements.
In 2011, Steve's sons Chris and Barry joined the business. Together they formed Geigle Safety Group, Inc. and added Quality OSHA Training (www.qualityoshatraining.com), and Quality Safety Training (www.qualitysafetytraining.com) to the websites they operate. Since this time, Geigle Safety Group has experienced strong growth and continues to develop and improve the websites and services they provide.
